Drupal 6: Integrating Adsense for Search

I’ve been using Drupal for almost a year and I find it very easy to customize and configure. In fact, Drupal is my second blogging platform after Blogger. The Drupal development and community is very active. In this post I will show you how to easily integrate Google’s ‘Adsense for Search’ into Drupal 6 so that the search result can be shown and contained on your Drupal site.

 

1. Download and install ‘Google Custom Search Engine’ module for Drupal 6 to your Drupal installation. If you don’t know how to install a Drupal module, extract and upload the content of google_cse-6.x-x.x.tar.gz to the sites/all/modules directory of your Drupal installation. Make sure the folder google_cse exists after you upload the files (1).

Google Chrome: Unable to Import Bookmarks & Settings from Mozilla Firefox

File-copying Utility Test: TeraCopy vs FastCopy

I’ve been using TeraCopy as my default copy handler for a few month to speed up the file copying/moving process. Sometimes, I wonder if TeraCopy is actually helps in speed up the file copying process or not. So, I decided to perform a simple test to compare the copying speed of built in copy handler in Windows, TeraCopy and FastCopy.

Accelerating File Copying Process of Small Files

Before this, I use TeraCopy as the default copy handler. However, the latest TeraCopy seems to have problem on my machine when trying to transfer a lot of small files between different hard disk (103GB of mp3 files). After searching for the alternative of TeraCopy, I found FastCopy. FastCopy is a small tool that will help to accelerates the file copying process. While TeraCopy seems cannot handle small files, FastCopy works perfectly.

2009 Anti-Malware Suites Test Results

Virus Bulletin has released the test results of 34 anti-malware products. The test covers a range of metrics, including detection rates over various types of malware including adware and spyware, false positive rates, scanning speed, proactive detection, and response times to outbreaks.

The test are performed against 1,164,662 samples of malware and 94,291 samples samples of ad/spyware. The summary of the test:

- Best detection rate of malware and ad/spyware: GDATA’s AVK 2009 (99.80% for malware, 99.80% for ad/spyware)
