Before this, I use TeraCopy as the default copy handler. However, the latest TeraCopy seems to have problem on my machine when trying to transfer a lot of small files between different hard disk (103GB of mp3 files). After searching for the alternative of TeraCopy, I found FastCopy. FastCopy is a small tool that will help to accelerates the file copying process. While TeraCopy seems cannot handle small files, FastCopy works perfectly.

The difference between TeraCopy and FastCopy is, FastCopy will not be your system’s copy handler like TeraCopy. You can use FastCopy if you are trying to transfer lots of small file, fast. FastCopy uses 2 methods to accelerate copying process:

Different HDD - Reading and writing are done with the MultiThreading in parallel.

Same HDD - Using big buffer, reading until the buffer becomes full, and writing in bulk.

FastCopy is free and open source.
