Converting Video Files to AMV/MTV Format

AMV format is the most common video format used by ‘MP4 Players’ from China. According to Wikipedia, AMV (also known as MTV) is a proprietary video file format, produced for use in Chinese MP3/MP4/MTV Players, particularly the S1 MP3 Players. Note that despite the word “MP4″ in the marketing description of several such players, this is not an MP4 or Moving Picture Experts Group file format.

The notable brands of Chinese MP4 player in Malaysia is Digisound, and most of them are an ‘iPod’ like MP4. Although it uses the name MP4, these players actually cannot play the MP4 videos. The manufacturer uses the name MP4 because it is MP3 player with the capability to play video.

Notes: The ‘Resize’ option is depend on the size of your MP4 screen. If you use resolution that too high, the video playback will be ‘flicker’ and in most cases the video can only be played for a few seconds.

After that, click and drag the files that you want to convert into MediaCoder (1), choose the output folder (2) and click start (3). Wait for the encoding process to finish.
