Find Hardware Drivers Name Easily Using HWiNFO32
Have you ever faced the problem to find the exact hardware drivers name when you want to install them? If you are working as computer technician, it will be quite a problem to find hardware drivers for the systems that you are not familiar with. One of the solution is to open the computer casing and look for the hardware brands or motherboard name (if you are installing on board driver). Another easy way is by using HWiNFO32.
HWiNFO32, as the description given by the developer is a professional hardware information and diagnostic tool supporting latest components, industry technologies and standards. HWiNFO32 is designed to collect and present the maximum amount of information possible about computer's hardware which make it suitable for users searching for driver updates, computer manufacturers, system integrators and technical experts as well. Retrieved information is presented in a logical and easily understandable form and can be exported into various types of reports. If you use Lavalys Everest before, you will find HWiNFO32 interface and functionality is very similar with Everest. HWiNFO32 can be considered as the free alternative to Everest.
HWiNFO32 will show you the list of hardware that installed on your system even if the drivers of the hardware are not present. To use HWiNFO32, download and install (or extract if you download the portable version of HWiNFO32). Run hwinfo32.exe. Navigates to the categories of the hardware drivers that you want to find. In this post, I use the 'Video Adapter' page for example. After you know your hardware name (in my case nVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT), you can use your favourite search engine to search for the drivers (using the keyword 'nvidia geforce 9800 driver download' for example), or just simply go to the manufacturers' websites.
HWiNFO32 is free and available for Windows 32-bit (IA-32), 64-bit (x64, IA-64).
