Sometimes some of us will be in a situation where we rarely can access the Internet. In this post, I will gather the way on how to keep antivirus on a system without Internet connection up to date with the latest virus signature.
Click here to download the antivirus database. There are up to 3 files that you need to download, depends on when the last time you perform an update. You can read the description of each files on the download page. I recommend you download all 3 files so you won’t miss any updates (av-i386-cumul.zip, av-i386-weekly.zip and av-i386-daily.zip for Kaspersky Antivirus, or av-i386&ids-cumul.zip, av-i386&ids-weekly.zip and av-i386&ids-daily.zip for Kaspersky Internet Security).
Extract all the files into a folder, E:\Kaspersky Updates for example. Extract av-i386-cumul.zip first, followed by av-i386-weekly.zip and lastly av-i386-daily.zip into that folder. Overwrite all files if prompt to.
Open Kaspersky settings. Navigates to Update, and click Settings (1).
Click Add (2) to add the folder where you previously extracted the update files (E:\Kaspersky Updates for example). Untick Kaspersky Lab’s update servers (3), and then tick to select the folder that you add as the update source (4). Save the configuration. Right click the Kapsersky tray icon, then click update to perform manual update of the antivirus database.
Notes: For me, Kaspersky is the best antivirus so far. Very cheap, only RM65 for 1 year license for 1 user. Very lightweight, the interface is very user friendly, and one of the best in virus detection rate.
Click here and download Antivir incremental VDF update (ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip). Open Antivir main window, navigates to Update > Manual Update. Browse for ivdf_fusebundle_nt_en.zip.
