Introducing… My Timer 0.1.0 beta 1

First of all, I’m very sorry for the lack of updates for the past
months. Actually, after my last blog post (How to Install WYSIWYG Editor in Drupal 6, Using WYSIWYG API and jwysiwyg) I’ve concentrated on learning C#
programming language and developing My Timer (My Timer is the first program I wrote using C# and .NET 2.0). I’ve released My Timer 0.1.0 beta 1 on 16th July 2009 but on 17th July, I went to Kuala Lumpur for almost 3 weeks.
What is My Timer?
My Timer is a small program that enables you to create countdown
timers. When the countdown reaches 0, you can choose to get notified
with a message box or MP3 audio, or both. You can expect to see more
features in the future! Feel free to test and run it!
My Timer is open source and is licensed under
GPLv3 and requires minimum Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 in order to run. If you have any bugs report, comments or suggestions please post them in My Timer forum.

New Halite 0.3.1.6 Get New Features, Based on Latest Libtorrent 0.14

Halite is an open source and lightweight BitTorrent client with small memory footprint. Halite is based on Rasterbar’s Libtorrent library. It is one of the best BitTorrent client to bypass traffic shaping, espacially by TMNet. Recently, the developer of Halite released the development version Halite 0.3.1.6 revision 638. The latest version of Halite will be based on libtorrent 0.14 and came with new features!

Some noteable new features in Halite 0.3.1.6 revision 638:
- ‘Managed’ torrent queue system.
- Disk cache.
- Port randomization.
- Compatible with Windows Vista’s User Account Control.

Since it is still in testing phase, some bugs and not-so-developed features are present in this release:
- ‘Queue View’ mode is not supported on Windows 2000.
- Sorting in ‘Queue View’ mode is currently not functional under XP.
- CPU usage spikes if the file tab is left open for a torrent with a large number of separate files.
- Translations are not included in this release.
- No proxy support.
- No scraping trackers yet.
- Partfile system is still very confusing.

So far, the latest Halite build is quite stable even it is still in development version, but sometimes the preferences seems to be resetted to default if Halite crashed or not properly terminated (at least for me). The .torrent files are now stored in the torrent folder without the .xml file like the previous version. Some screenshots of latest Halite:

Welcome Google Chrome! First Look…

PhotobucketGoogle Chrome is the latest open source web browser, built with WebKit and Mozilla technology, developed by Google. When I first run Google Chrome, I noticed the simple GUI of Google Chrome. You will get the basic GUI such as tabs, address bar, back, forward and home buttons. Even bookmarks is actually hidden by default (you have the option to show it somehow).

Some Google Chrome features:

  • Phishing and malware sites blacklist will be periodically downloaded by Google Chrome.
  • Each tabs in Google Chrome are sandboxed, meaning that each tab is isolated and cannot affect other tabs, and have the similar ‘Protected Mode’ used by Explorer 7 on Windows Vista.
  • The new Javascript virtual machine, V8, used in Google Chrome will significantly improve Javascript executions.
  • Multiprocessing
  • Google Chrome comes with its own task manager, so you can see which tab or plugin that hogs your system resources.

Harga Minyak Naik Lagi!

Mungkinkah kita terpaksa menaiki kereta-kereta sebegini?

TERIMA KASIH KERAJAAN!
