Keeping software installed on your Windows system up-to-date with the latest version is important. One of the main reasons to keep software updated with the latest version is because the latest version usually come with bug and security fixes. Security fix is very important because unfixed security flaws in the software installed on your system may lead your system to be compromised by hackers. Keeping software with latest version will also allow you to use new features that came with the latest version of the software. Checking each software that installed on your system manually for latest the version is a tiresome thing to do.
While Linux operating system have their own package manager that connects to software repository that allows users to keep the installed software on their system up-to-date with the latest version easily, Windows users don’t have this. Update Notifier is a small utility that checks if there are updates available for the software installed on your system and display the updates to you in a simple way. If update is available, you can click the download button and you will be directed to the download page for the software. Then, you can download the latest version of the software using your web browser.

Nero Alternative, 8 Free CD/DVD Burning Software
| 19 November 2008 | Posted by whiztech under Uncategorized |
If you use Nero before, you should noticed that you are not using most of the features that came with the default installation, especially if you are looking just for the basic CD/DVD burning features. The latest Nero 9 is becoming more bloated, with more than 350MB installation file, and it take 1GB of space after installation.
In this post, I will list 8 free CD/DVD burning software. If you are looking for the simple alternative for Nero, you can try the software listed below. The first 2 is my personal favourite.
1. ImgBurn
ImgBurn is a lightweight, yet powerful CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning software. What I like the most about ImgBurn is you can control most of the burning configuration including the advanced controls. ImgBurn also has the ability to create ISO images.
ImgBurn provides you with the advanced configuration. The interface of ImgBurn is quite complex, and might not be very suitable for non-technical users. If you are looking for a burning application with advanced control options, ImgBurn might be for you.
ImgBurn is a burning software. There are no built-in options to create audio or video CD/DVD. You can however use external tools to create audio/video CD/DVD images and then burn it with ImgBurn. ImgBurn is available for Windows.
Web Browser Memory Usage: Firefox vs Flock vs Internet Explorer vs Opera
| 10 June 2008 | Posted by whiztech under Uncategorized |
I am actually a heavy tab user, usually every time I am browsing the Internet, I opened average 10 tabs and maybe more. My desktop PC is running on 2.66Ghz Pentium 4 which is quite slow for a heavy tab user like me. I’ve tested a lot of browsers that doesn’t require a lot of resources even when opening lots of tabs. So far, I found that Flock 1.2.1 is very suitable for me. Flock is a browser with Web 2.0 features, built on Firefox. Flock 1.2.1 is based on Firefox 2.
